If you were to receive a letter today from anyone you have known during your lifetime, who would it be from and what would it say?
I kind of consider this question to be cheating. I could answer as to who I would like to receive a letter from, but as to the content: how should I know? Isn’t the point of a letter to be surprised and have a conversation? Nevertheless, into the realm of possibilities I embark.
Anyone I have known in my lifetime……. Well, there is a particular friend that I had in middle school named Danielle that I was very sad to lose contact with when I changed schools. During that period of my life, I was not a Christian, but shortly before we lost touch, God changed my heart. I didn’t really get the chance to witness to her before I never saw her again and have always lamented it. I would love to receive a letter from her, either telling me that she has chosen to follow Christ, or seeking some kind of advice or reconnection. Knowing the paths that she and I were on in those three years of our friendship, her life might not be the prettiest picture, but she was very intelligent, moreso than myself I believe, and I would hope that she would say something of how well she was doing. However, it is often in brokenness that the Lord is able to reach out to us. People don’t accept help when they don’t believe they need it.
