If you could choose the very last thing you would see before you die, what would it be?
I have used my grandparents’ land in Tennessee at least once before, but my heart truly lies in those mountains. There is a particular view there that I would like though. On our acreage there was an apple orchard which, years ago, was denuded by some sort of misdirected crop dusting that killed nearly all the trees. In the time since, my grandfather hasn’t been able to maintain the grass which is now typically thigh high and full of ticks. But as a child, I remember it being so beautiful and serene. If I could have one last glimpse of anything, it would be of our apple orchard the way it was when I was a young girl.
