This is the first version of this song, but there are many. One visit to YouTube or iTunes will reveal that. The one I purchased was by The New Collective featuring Chelsea Phillips.
I love learning about the different names of God and what they reveal about His character. I think that’s what I love about this song. Not only is it praising Him, it also teaches us (or perhaps reminds us) who He is. It’s also a song where you can easily add in your own word of worship. When my church first played this song, I began to throw in names that of His that I knew when the song went instrumental. I encourage you to do the same. If you don’t know any other names, I encourage you to learn some. Ann Spangler has a couple of great books about the names of Yahweh: what they are, what they mean, when they were first used, how to apply them to your prayers and daily life.
I hope you love this song as much as I do and that it encourages you greatly no matter what season of life you’re in. Enjoy!
Who is moving on the waters
Who is holding up the moon
Who is peeling back the darkness
With the burning light of noon
Who is standing on the mountains
Who is on the earth below
Who is bigger than the heavens and the lover of my soul
Creator God, He is Yahweh
The Great I am, He is Yahweh
The Lord of All, He is Yahweh
Rose of Sharon, He is Yahweh
The Righteous Son, He is Yahweh
The Three-in-one, He is Yahweh
Who is He that makes me happy
Who is He that gives me peace
Who is He that brings me comfort
And turns the bitter into sweet
Who is stirring up my passion
Who is rising up in me
Who is filling up my hunger, with everything I need.
You are holy and eternal
And forever You will reign
Every knee will bow before You
Every tongue will confess Your name
All the angels give You glory
As they stand before Your throne
And here on Earth we gather
To declare Your name alone.
